General Teamsters Local Union No. 979 would like to recognize and congratulate several long-standing members on their retirement in 2026 after many years of dedicated service in their respective industries.

• Doug Thomas of TST-CF Express has retired following a lengthy career in the transportation industry. Doug’s commitment and years of service have been greatly appreciated by both his coworkers and the union.
• Tom Krotwich of Purolator has officially retired after many years of dedicated work and service. We thank Tom for his contributions and wish him all the best in retirement.
• Ed Karim from the construction sector has retired after a long and hardworking career in the industry. His years of dedication and union solidarity are sincerely appreciated.
• Ken Remple of Menzies Aviation has retired following many years of service in the aviation industry. Ken’s commitment and professionalism over the years have left a lasting impact on those he worked alongside.
